Our current goal under this theme is to strengthen community child responsiveness and also to establish community structures and child advocacy networks to take up the role and responsibility in managing issues of Child Abuse including child sexual abuse. So as to reduce incidences of Child Rights violation and ensure that the Rights of children are protected at family and community level in the slum and rural areas of the 3 Districts of Nakawa in Kampala, Bugiri and Kaliro.
This is done through an integrated approach of involving the community and key stakeholders in establishing Community Child Protection Committees geared towards protecting the rights of children, providing child friendly services for the sexually abused children at the 3 URHB Medical Centres and other Health Centres both Government and private which include psychosocial support and effective referral services for the sexually abused children to ensure that all Identified abused children are able to receive legal and medical services from URHB and other government and private partners.
The Oak Foundation, Child Hope UK and the Jersey Overseas aid Committee have been our major partners in achieving this program.
